Had a lovely weekend seeing the Rehearsal Gig...I just enjoyed everything about it, I even managed to fill up when Mick did at the end of Chains of Love, cos I didn't like seeing him sort of emotional, as it made me the same then, wow, got enough of my own emotions going on right now. The chit chat inbetween and the few little minor blips oh my it just added to it, so fine..I think its all part an parcel of a great evening and so very different to what we would be used to. I for one think you all gave us a great time from all quaters. Thank you love

What an excellent night! only 1 mistake by mick lol.

It was a fantastic night,
All the band were booted and suited and they all look very handsome.
Mick and the band played 3 Simply Red Songs which was unexpected.
We were in the front row and I was convinced Mick was going to fall off the stage into the crowed.
We danced and Mick encouraged that, which was a relief
and he was very relaxed and funny.
Going to catch 40 winks

Last night for me was just fantastic! The first time I have seen Mick on stage for a long time! The venue was small, intimate and very relaxed.
It did not matter where you sat the view was great.
The evening strarted with a film of recorded material on Mick Bobby and the band rehearsing. Very personal and nice to watch.
Mick was funny and relaxed as was the band. He looked fit and well and was very slim. He was also happy which was nice to see:)
Half way through he sat on the side of the stage and watched the band play.
The band looked great also! Smart, fit, healthy and happy looking too:)
Towards the end most people were dancing as was Mick.
A lovely evening which I enjoyed very much! So thankyou to all involved.
You are all in for a treat when you go to the concerts. It was great!!

Had a great night band all in top form, and the music was great, despite my reservations before hand. I sometimes wonder if Daves head will fall off with all that headbanging he does.
Currently in Bristol airport waiting for my flight and Carol downstairs at check in .But, there always is one, there has been a power cut and she cant check in so who knows what will happen. Lol

Well after a 5 hour wait, i.I was at the front and what a super night, the atmosphere was electric, i loved every minute of it, and the music sounded better than ever live too. i was bought the ticket as a birthday pressie by my mum, and after i waited around for about an hour or so and as the band all came out i got my programme signed which was great, i was lucky enought to get the set list that was used by mick, and when he came out he signed that for me, and i got a birthday kiss of Kevin too, so i went back home to cornwall buzzing and floting 10feet off the ground. what a wonderfull evening.
simply maria great piccys, thanks to all who chatted with me while we were waiting, made the wait bearable.

Having seen a number of Simply Red gigs over the past 21 years, I was unsure of what to expect at this rehearsal gig. However, I needn't have been. The evening provided for an excellent rendition of the new Bobby Bland covers and these were thoughtfully punctuated by some Simply Red numbers. The band's sound, vitality and presentation were all crisp and fresh, and characterised the new direction. Mick's vocals transcended the performance, as ever, and we are looking forward to the Oxford tour date this weekend. Even my 4-year old son enjoyed the evening; he could be seen imitating Pete Lewinson on his imaginary drums!
Thank you to all.

Hi Mick
I just want to write and tell you what a fantastic evening i had in Bristol at your rehersal night! Your voice was a dream
and you suited that style of song so well. The whole performance was so relaxed i actually felt that we were all your friends and that you were singing to us.
Your group were brilliant too and played with such talent. I travelled from norfolk to see you and it was so worth it and i hope you will be back this way again sometime soon. To see you perform Tribute to Bobby again would be brilliant.
Once again thankyou for a most rememberal night and one i shall never forget, you truly are a natural performer, good luck in every thing that you do in the future,
Kind Regards
- Debbie Graham

What an unforgettable experience!
My friend Sally & I had driven down from Hull to the rehearsal gig.We truly felt part of something really special that night. Intimate venue, with Mick and the band relaxed and sounding better than ever.
Love the new album and the direction your music is going,we danced and sang along all night, the time just passed so quickly. Then we waited outside and the band kindly signed our programmes, I even got a kiss from Mick!
After getting lost and asking the local police directions back to our hotel( it looked different in the dark), they very kindly dropped us off, our first ride in a police car, what an eventful night!. As we walked in reception I did a double take, all the band were staying in our hotel!
We had a great time chatting with some of the band,& spent our evening with some really lovely people.
Mick came down and had a chat, and later on we bought him and Dave a drink to say thank you for a great evening.
Mick then very kindly posed for photos,as we were sure no one would ever believe us!
What a night! One that neither of us will ever forget.
Thank you all so much,
- Love Sue & Sally
P.S.Hi to Rachel & John, we shared our taxi with you to the gig!

What a privilige it was to have this wonderful opportunity to attend this one-off event!
'Our Elaine' opened the show in fine voice - no! she didn't sing She gave us the running order for the evening & advised us of when we could take photos,as,of course this was the first time these songs had been played to a live and (very) excited audience.
Then followed the film which everyone enjoyed and just towards the end the band came on stage, and as soon as film finished they kicked off with the brilliant Soul Theme.
Mick then joined the band on stage accompanied by a huge round of applause, and I knew then we were in for a very special evening.
I enjoyed all of the Bobby songs (you just can't beat it live),especially Chains Of Love - made the hairs on back of my neck stand on end... It was great to have 3 Simply Red songs played, they just fitted in so well.
Mick and the band looked extremely happy and relaxed, everyone performed brilliantly.
I waited outside the Colston Hall along with many other excited people and was fortunate enough to get my programme signed by Kenji and Pete, followed by a kiss from Ian and then Mick - talk about Too Far Gone - I know I was.
- Carol (Edinburgh)

Wow - absolutly brill. Not knowing what to expect, it was the best concert we have been to. The humour and the chat in between and the real emotion we saw from Mick is the reason we have been loyal fans since the early days. We really enjoyed the video about Bobby because it set the scene and give us the rational of why the change. As Mick said now he is more mature - his voice is perfect for this really soul full, beautiful music.
